Remembering Ferd H. Jones: A Beloved Bennington Community Member

Ferd H. Jones, a cherished member of the Bennington community, passed away on June 16, 2026, at the age of 91, surrounded by family. Born on June 24, 1934, in Hoosick Falls, New York, Ferd was a longtime resident of Bennington and part of a large family.

Ferd had a passion for automobiles and worked as a car body repairman in several local dealerships. His dedication to the automotive field made him a well-known figure in the area. Beyond his career, he was actively involved in the community as a member of the Bennington Eagles Club and the Bennington Fire Department, demonstrating his commitment to serving others.

Family and Legacy

Ferd is survived by his fiancée, Janet Michaels, and a large family that includes his children Keneth, Keith (Gen), Kathy, Kelly (Steve), and Adam Jones, as well as stepchildren Debbie, Allyson, Wendy, Valerie, Wayne, Darlene, Marcella, Kimberly, Melinda, James, David, and Lynne. His siblings, Lester Jones and Barbara Rosenburg, along with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins will also remember him fondly.

He was predeceased by his parents, Carl and Lucy Jones, and his previous spouses, Joan Browe, Donna Roberson, and Irene Giroux Jones, as well as several siblings.

Funeral Arrangements

Funeral services for Ferd will take place on June 25, 2026, at E.P. Mahar & Son Funeral Home located at 628 Main Street, Bennington. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:30 AM, followed by a memorial service at 11:30 AM. The burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made in Ferd’s memory to the Bennington Rescue Squad through the E.P. Mahar & Son Funeral Home.
