What is happening at the Bennington Quiltfest?

The Quiet Valley Quilters Guild hosts the annual Bennington Quiltfest on September 19 and 20, 2026. Indeed, this popular gathering stands out among Bennington VT weekend events. It successfully brings together crafters and visitors at Mount Anthony Union Middle School to celebrate fiber arts.

The festival runs Saturday from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Meanwhile, Sunday hours are 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Admission costs $10 per person. Furthermore, visitors can view more than 100 new, non-judged quilts on display. The exhibition also features special challenge quilts and a historic collection from past guild presidents.

Also, attendees can participate in the event by voting for their favorite pieces. Following this, the guild will present the People’s Choice Awards on Sunday afternoon. Then, you can buy raffle tickets for “Songbird Serenade.” Guild members pieced and machine-quilted this beautiful 64-inch by 96-inch quilt from three-inch squares.

Mechanical engineer turned fiber artist Linda Ramrath will serve as the featured speaker. She is the author of From Stitches to Smiles. In this role, she will deliver free lectures at 1:00 PM daily. She titled her Saturday talk “My Red Velvet Sofa Experience.” On Sunday, she will present “When Old Things Tell New Stories.”

Between lectures, guests can shop at the consignment and gift boutique. Additionally, the event features vendor booths and raffle baskets. If you get hungry, the on-site Quiltfest Café will serve delicious food. For example, the menu includes breakfast sandwiches, fresh pastries, hot soups, quiche, and gourmet lunch options.

Historic Things to Do in Bennington Vermont: Bennington Battle Monument

The Bennington Battle Monument offers spectacular views and a deep connection to Revolutionary War history. Located at 15 Monument Circle, this impressive landmark is a central highlight for anyone exploring Old Bennington. Specifically, visitors can ride the elevator to the top for 360-degree views.

The monument stands 306 feet tall. It features blue-gray magnesian limestone and remains the tallest man-made structure in Vermont.
