On July 19, 1945, she married Robert Bradley Keith, and they enjoyed over 50 years together until his passing in 1995.

Barbara was known as a devoted homemaker and a skilled chair caner, a craft she took pride in throughout her life. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Her interests included reading, gardening, cooking, and pickling, and she shared her love for ballroom dancing with her husband.
