Remembering William ‘Bill’ Perry of Bennington, VT

William “Bill” Perry, a beloved member of the Bennington community, passed away unexpectedly at his home on July 17, 2026. He was 66 years old.

Born on April 3, 1960, in Potsdam, New York, Bill was the son of Kenneth and Barbara (Hale) Perry. After completing high school, he pursued a career in welding, which took him to Bennington Iron Works, where he became a Certified Welding Inspector and later the Lead Fabricator at Dailey Precast/Peckham Industries. He also shared his skills by teaching welding in the Adult Education Program at SW Tech.

Family and Community Impact

Bill married Alice Cyphers on February 10, 1989, in Bennington. Together, they raised five children: Adrienne, Sara, Adam, Michael, and Matthew. He was a proud grandfather to seven grandchildren: Emily, Holly, Alan, Eliana, Mackenzie, Cormac, and Kaidyn, and he cherished every moment spent with them.

In addition to his immediate family, Bill is survived by his siblings Michael Perry and Kathy Pitcher, as well as many extended family members and friends.

Passions and Legacy

Beyond family, Bill was an enthusiastic outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, and mushroom hunting, especially when accompanied by loved ones. He was an active member of the Hale Mountain Rod and Gun Club, where he enjoyed sharing his knowledge of nature and professional skills with others.

Bill was predeceased by his parents, brother Thomas Perry, and sisters Beth Monroe and Jenie LaBrake, as well as former spouse Sherry Jo Russell.

Celebration of Life
